This Friday, January 24, 2014, Black Cat Road is playing at The Phoenix at Sunday River ~ 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

~ This is also Jessica’s birthday. ~ I think I overheard her telling someone that she would really enjoy your presence.

(Maybe it was that she would really enjoy your ‘presents’)….

Either way, stop round to say Happy Day to Jessie Mae!

  3. Last Shows Of The Year

2013 has been an exciting year for Black Cat Road. We feel as if we have grown in both our sound and depth, and have made a whole lot of new friends along the way. We know our fans are just as anxious as we are for us to get some music out to you, and we believe 2014 will finally be the year for those wheels to get turning. Our band is maturing, perhaps, at a slower rate than most folks are used to, but that’s just the way we roll. All this time we’ve been aging our sounds, leading us up to a studio release that should really capture what we are all about. This is what we hope for and we thank all of you who have supported us with your love and dollars added to our tip jar / studio fund!

Our last full band appearance for the year will be on New Year’s Eve at LaFleur’s Restaurant in Jay, Maine. $40 per person includes an appetizer, choice of 4 entrees, light dessert, champagne midnight toast, and of course, Black Cat Road! They suggest you call to make a reservation (207-897-2117.)

The band will be in Rockland, Maine at The Time Out Pub on Sunday, December 22 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. It’s our friend’s birthday party, but I’m pretty sure the pub will be open to anyone, so come on by if you’re in the neighborhood!

You can also check out the DUO on Monday, December 23 at The Phoenix at Sunday River. Steve and Jess will be performing during cocktail hour and into dinner hour, so be sure to stop in and say hi to them if you have been out on the slopes!

We appreciate the warm comments we received both in person and on our Facebook page in regards to our  “207″ debute on October 25th! In case you missed it, here is a link to our segment. It shows the intro with the host, the performance of our song “Crow Stew,” and a short interview segment. Be sure to scroll down to view the second video showing the performance of our original song “Black Cat Road.” We had a blast going on “the TEE VEE!”, and special thanks to our friend and WCSH6 producer Krister Rollins for hooking us up with the opportunity.

The Harvest On The Harbor event was really fun, too. Playing for hundreds of folks, intoxicated by the smells of BBQ… oh yes. That was right in our wheelhouse.

Thanks to Chris Plumstead for this Instagram 10/25/13

Coming up next is our return to the fabulously chic Gingko Blue in the Old Port of Portland. That is Friday, November 15, 2013, and we begin at 8:00 p.m. Gingko Blue has started serving food, again, too, so how can you go wrong? See you out there!

Hey! Black Cat Road appreciates all the love we received over the summer! What a blast we had at the Maine Blues Festival, The Waterford World’s Fair, Dam Blues Fest, among the rest of the fine venues we got to perform in.

So, what’s next, you ask? Well, we are excited to get back down to Portland on Saturday, September 28, for another swanky night at GIngko Blue. That’s at 455 Fore St.

We’ve also been asked to perform at the Harvest On The Harbor event on October 25! We think it’s a perfect fit, because we love food and brews so much. More on this exciting event here.

This is it folks! The final leg of festival season is here, and BCR couldn’t be more thrilled to get in on the action at our favorite festival, Dam Blues Fest! We perform from 3:30 to 4:30, but we highly suggest you come for the 12 noon start time to catch our friends Ragged Jack! The day will be filled with quality blues & roots & swing acts, and ends with headliner Ricky “King” Russell and The Cadillac Horns! It will surely be worth the price of admission (as Steve always says), and MORE!

Black Cat Road kicks off the weekend with an appearance at Schooner Landing in downtown Damariscotta, and we will end the weekend there as well, as the band host for the All-Star Blues Jam (4:00 p.m – 7:00 p.m.)! Don’t want to miss that.

Check out the Dam Blues Fest web site for details, and we will see you there!
